“Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth” - American Psychological Association. At the heart of transgender ideology is the belief that sex and gender are separate things: They believe that a person’s sex is determined by biology, but gender is determined by society. Many transgender individuals feel strong negative emotions about their body thus leading them to seek out a gender that better matches their desires - often referred to as “their most authentic selves.” Well, not everyone agrees on these issues placing transgender ideology at the center of the culture wars.
