Just about every historian on the earth believes Jesus was an actual historical figure. Some say Jesus is God, who became a human, so that he could die as a sacrifice for sins. Others say Jesus was a revolutionary leader who lived a lifestyle of peace and love that serves as an example for how we ought to treat one another. In our country here in North America, we are of course a democracy led by an elected President. So it is a bit hard to imagine life in a monarchy. Countries such as Japan, Jordan, Belgium, Thailand, and Spain. Kings have ruled various portions of the world for thousands of years. Pastor Steve continues in our Easter message series Jesus was prophet, priest, and today he will wrap up part 2 on the message on king.

What do you think of when you hear the word “priest?” Maybe it’s a leader who wears robes with one of those little white collars? Maybe it’s a different religion where they refer to a holy man as a priest. Prophets, priests, and kings played massive roles throughout the Old and New Testaments, but did you know that in the thousands of years of recorded history, Jesus was the only one who held all three roles? As we move closer to Easter we are breaking down these roles to understand what they mean, how Jesus fulfilled them, and why that matters in our lives today.
