If I’ve been saved by grace and all of my sins are forgiven, what’s the point in trying to make good decisions? Why should I care about how my actions affect other people’s faith?
These are the questions we wrestle with today and questions that people wrestled with thousands of years ago in the days of early Christianity, too.
In this message, Pastor Steve Garcia unpacks Romans 14 and the question: Do Rules matter?
If you are someone who struggles with wanting to know how to live in the “gray areas” of life, make sure you check out this message. You will be given practical ways to handle disagreements with others in the faith and see how what you do and how you act matter to God. Rather than judging people who don’t follow the same rules you follow, rather than dismissing people you see as weak. God wants you to work through the tension together, in relationships, by asking ourselves:
Is this a crisis of faith or a difference of opinion?
Is this an area where I need to grow?
Am I trying to win or trying to live?

Do any of these rules sound familiar from your church background?
You should never dance. Or listen to secular music. You should only use a certain translation of the Bible. Women should never wear pants. Men should never have long hair. Tattoos are strictly prohibited.
Many people grew up in these kinds of environments and even today still carry with them a fear of messing up, making the wrong move, and somehow disappointing God. In fact, most religions of the world teach that there is some kind of divine being (or beings) out there and this “god” requires a specific kind of behavior from its followers. So that makes our job to learn and keep the rules so that “God” won’t be angry with us.
Enter: GRACE. The Undeserved reward of Jesus. What would happen if we truly understood grace and lived underneath it’s promise? Check out this message in part 3 of the series “I’m Good” where we dig into Matthew 20, a story about an “unfair” landowner. How do you really know if someone is a Christian? Is it because of where they go to church?
Or if they go to church? Many people say that a Christian is someone who knows and believes that Jesus is God’s Son and has saved the world… but we find out in the book of James that even the DEMONS believe that!
Not all faith is saving faith.
In part 2 of our series, “I’m Good,” Pastor John Hill gives us practical insight on whether our faith is alive or dead. The reality is, what we DO reflects what we BELIEVE.

Have you ever wondered what you need to do to get on God’s good side? Maybe you see life as one giant scale of your good decisions on one side and your bad decisions on the other. Maybe you hope that you will get to the end of your life with more good than bad on your scale. But doesn’t that sound exhausting? And hard to measure…because really, what is “good”?

Many of us love being in our comfort zone - it makes us feel safe and secure. What if you were told that there was more to life outside of your comfort zone, but it requires you to take a step of faith and trust?

Sometimes life is chaotic and painful and peace is hard to find. Sometimes we get discouraged. Sometimes we feel like we are in a war zone and hits keep on coming. Sometimes we feel like we are on an island all by ourselves. Jesus even said, “in this world, you will have trouble…” but He doesn’t stop there…”TAKE HEART”, he says, “because I have overcome the world.” Pastor Anthony Riley unpacks Philippians 4 in this message and encourages us that we can find peace even when all hell breaks loose in our lives. “Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” -Jesus. (Matthew 10:34)
Wait…what? I thought Jesus was the Prince of Peace, but these words of Jesus seem to say something totally different. What do we do with this?

700 years before the birth of Jesus, a prophet named Isaiah spoke words of comfort and peace to a world-weary from pain, anxiety, and hopelessness. “A Messiah, a Savior is coming”, Isaiah said, “and he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”
And here we are, thousands of years later, living in a world-weary from pain, anxiety, and hopelessness and we don’t look forward in faith, but we look back in faith and believe that this Savior, Jesus came to bring peace to our world today. What would need to happen in your life for you to experience peace? Is it financially surviving the Christmas season? Or getting through the family gatherings without a fight? Is it making an important life decision and hoping it's the right one for you and your family? We all experience moments where things feel chaotic and stressful. In those moments, how are we to honor God?
In part 1 of our new teaching series, Prince of Peace, Pastor Joel Sanchez shares from John 14 that peace is not the absence of trials or a lack of problems, but a person that we can know and have a relationship with. Because of this relationship, regardless of what we go through, peace is possible.

For so many of us, money has a crippling effect on our decisions, our relationships, and our identity. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
