What about good deeds?
The book of James was written by the half-brother of Jesus. James is writing to Jewish believers who are scattered throughout the region of Jerusalem because of persecution. Can I lose my salvation?
To be a Christian, to be of the party of Christ, requires one to believe and turn to Him. This means having the right view of Jesus and the right view of self. Acting on this faith is what the Bible calls “salvation”. So what happens then when someone claims to be a Christian but their lives don’t show it? Can a person lose their salvation?

Just about every historian on the earth believes Jesus was an actual historical figure. Some say Jesus is God, who became a human, so that he could die as a sacrifice for sins. Others say Jesus was a revolutionary leader who lived a lifestyle of peace and love that serves as an example for how we ought to treat one another. In our country here in North America, we are of course a democracy led by an elected President. So it is a bit hard to imagine life in a monarchy. Countries such as Japan, Jordan, Belgium, Thailand, and Spain. Kings have ruled various portions of the world for thousands of years. Maybe it’s a different religion where they refer to a holy man as a priest.
